Celebrating 90 years. Mr Ramnath Jeetah is one of the few men living today who participated in the Independence election in 1967 and remained faithful to the ideal of a free Mauritius. He then served his country as a teacher, mp and selfless social worker. He created Eastern College, PBBC and gave hope to thousands. He enjoyed farm work and reading. He once told me he could hear his sugar canes grow in his fields... was so passionate. He has very strict principles and never chose the easier path as many are tempted to. Happy birthday dad and thank you for all.

First they came for Navin Ramgoolam I didn't speak out as i wasn't a PM Then they came for Mohammed, Bachoo, Cader, Jeetah ... I didn't speak out as i wasn't a minister Then they came for Ish Sookun I didn't speak out as i wasn't an IT expert Then they came for the Ruhomally's I didn't speak out as i wasn't a liberal Then they came for Rawat I didn't speak out as i wasn't a businessman Then they came for Adeela, Claudio, Laina, Brian ... I didn't speak out as my father was not a businessman Then they came for Beenick, Vayid, Mootien, Gujudar .. I didn't speak out as i wasn't a banker Then they came for the DPP I didn't speak out as i wasn't a DPP Then they came for this little boy and his mother ... I didn't speak out as i wasn't poor Then they came for me without a warrant in my dwelling And there was no one left to speak for me .... Little did Martin Niemöller know that in 2020 Mauritius would use his words.
